- General anesthesia with controlled airway management when indicated
- Regional anesthesia techniques for ophthalmic procedures
- Local anesthesia for minor ophthalmic interventions
- Peribulbar and retrobulbar blocks for ocular surgery
- Topical anesthesia for selected anterior segment procedures
- Sedation techniques ranging from minimal to deep sedation, as appropriate
These techniques are carefully selected to ensure optimal surgical conditions, patient safety, and comfort.

Community Impact
The Anesthesia Unit extends its services beyond the institute
through participation in structured medical convoys across
different governorates in Egypt.
These initiatives aim to:
• Provide safe and standardized anesthesia care in underserved areas
• Support large-scale ophthalmic surgical missions
• Ensure consistency of clinical practice across outreach settings Through these efforts, the unit contributes to improving access to specialized surgical care and strengthening healthcare delivery at a national level.
