Eye drops Solution for Allergic Conjunctivitis (local specific immunotherapy ) (Patent No: 2006040138).

  • Management of allergic conjunctivitis, rhinitis and bronchial asthma using natural allergenic extracts.
  • The Allergy Lab of the Research Institute of Ophthalmology prepare these extracts from crude materials obtained from our environment like tree pollens eg orange and palm and pollens of Bermuda grass (El-Negeel), animal hairs eg cats, dogs goats and wool also feathers and house dust which contain HD mites among other allergens. All are extracted in Nacl and NaHCO3.
  • Sterilization of the extracts by Millipore syringe filters 0.2 µm is done to be ready for use in diagnosis of allergens responsible for different allergic diseases by skin prick test and according to its results allergenic extracts are prepared in the form of eye drops for the first time in Egypt to treat allergic conjunctivitis and also in the conventional form as subcutaneous injections for treatment of allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma. These natural allergenic extracts prepared in our Allergy Lab in RIO are more effective and also much cheaper than the imported extracts which are used in private clinics.
