Mike Adams

UK

Mike qualified as a doctor at the University of Cambridge in 2002, began his ophthalmology career at Kent County Ophthalmic Hospital - one of the oldest eye hospitals in the UK - and continued it with registrar posts at St Thomas’, East Grinstead, and Oxford Eye Hospitals, before completing his training with an honorary fellowship in corneal and external eye disease at Moorfield’s Eye Hospital.

Leon Au

UK

Mr Leon Au is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in glaucoma and cornea.
He graduated from the University of Nottingham in 1998 with an ophthalmology prize of the year.
He completed 8 years of general ophthalmology training in Nottingham and Manchester before undertaking separate subspecialty training fellowships in cornea, glaucoma and refractive surgery.
He has been a dual-specialty consultant in the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital since February 2009.
He is an international leader in the field of innovative glaucoma surgeries and is involved in many of the clinical trials.

Larry Benjamin

UK

A Consultant Ophthalmologist in Stoke Mandeville Hospital Mr Benjamin trained in Brighton, The Western Eye Hospital, Moorfields and The Oxford Eye Hospital.
He was appointed as a Consultant in 1990 and since then has developed interests in Cataract surgery, the management of Diabetic Retinopathy including the use of early vitrectomy and surgical training.
He was the first chairman of the Surgical Skills Sub-committee at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists during which he helped to develop the College microsurgical skills courses and chaired the committee which updated the latest College cataract surgical guidelines.
He has served as the Chairman of the Education Committee and Senior Vice President of the College.
He has also served as the programme secretary to the ophthalmic section of the Royal Society of Medicine and is the Immediate Past-President for this section (October 2020-2022) He was until recently the chair of the microsurgical skills committee at the RCOphth.
He has served on the council of UKISCRS and is a past- President. He has been a volunteer faculty member for Orbis the flying eye hospital charity and is chairman of its programme committee for Europe Middle East and Africa.
He was recently co-awarded the inaugural Jack Kanski prize for an outstanding educator by the RCOphth and also an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

Harminder Dua

He is a specialist in surgical and medical treatments of cataract, refractive errors, cornea, including corneal transplants and Stem cells, and ocular surface diseases.
He has extensive experience and knowledge of a variety of eye conditions including dry eyes, keratoconus, cataracts, conjunctivitis and ulcers.
As an Ophthalmologist, Prof.
Dua is a Global Leader who has made many notable and innovative contributions in his medical field.

Nigel Jordan

UK

Dr Jordan has 20 years’ experience in Eye Banking and Clinical Cell Culture. As Head of the Eye Bank at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead and the first Eye Bank in the UK established in the 1940’s, he has overseen the introduction of Organ Culture Storage, DSAEK preparation and the culture of autologous Cultured Oral Mucosal Epithelial Transplants (COMET Cells). The Eye Bank also prepares autologous plasma eye drops used alongside the COMET and Limbal stem cell treatments and as a therapy for severe dry eye syndrome.
Prior to his work at the East Grinstead Eye Bank, Dr Jordan was the Group Leader of Clinical Research at the Blond McIndoe Research Foundation working on autologous cultured keratinocytes for the treatment of paediatric and adult burn injuries and the use of Cultured Allogeneic Limbal Stem cells for the treatment of Limbal Stem Cell deficiency.
He has a thorough understanding of the UK regulatory and quality frameworks that the Eye Bank works to and has been instrumental in developing the Quality Management System for the Eye Bank ensuring compliance in an evolving regulatory environment.

Thomas Neuhann

Germany

Prof. Neuhann has been using the Excimer laser technique from a very early stage, and has been performing laser surgeries since the late ’80s.
In 1999, Dr. Neuhann was honored as a “Pioneer of Refractive Surgery” in the United States.
In 2005, he was additionally voted one of “TOP 50 Opinion Leaders” for Outstanding Contribution and Leadership in the Fields of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Prof. Neuhann has been president for VSDAR (Organization of German Specialty Clinics for Laser Eye and Refractive Surgery) since 2006.

Nabil Ragael Kamel

SPAIN

He has worked in Spain since 1998 as an ophthalmological doctor and surgeon. He has been Head of Ophthalmology at prestigious hospitals.
He has extensive surgical experience in cataract, glaucoma, strabismus and retinal detachment surgeries.
He is an expert in using PRK Excimer Laser and LASIK and INTRALASE techniques.

Cynthia Roberts

USA

She is a Professor of Political Science at Hunter College and also a Senior Research Scholar at the Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies and Adjunct Professor of International Affairs at Columbia University.
In 2019, Dr. Roberts served as a policy adviser at the Joint Staff, Department of Defense in J-5, Strategy, Plans and Policy.
Prof. Roberts is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Previously, she was Director of the Russian Area Studies Graduate Program at Hunter and served as a member of the Executive Committee on Science, Arms Control, and National Security of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Andrea Russo

Italy

He is the Medical Director of the Italian Refractive Group in Brescia and Bergamo, Italy, where he specializes in refractive and cataract surgery. and is a pioneer in integrating artificial intelligence into refractive ophthalmic practice.

Dalia Said

She is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Queens Medical centre, Nottingham and an Honorary Associate Professor at Nottingham University. She specialises in: cataract and lens surgery, refractive surgery, laser eye surgery, corneal diseases and transplantations, management of dry eyes, keratoconus and ocular surface problems.
She has over 20 years’ experience as a Specialist Ophthalmologist.
